应广东省可再生能源重点实验室及中国科学院广州能源研究所地热能与节能技术研究中心先进能源系统科研团队的共同邀请,伊朗阿米尔卡比尔理工大学(德黑兰理工学院)副教授、中国科学院PIFI国际访问学者Hamid?Naderan?Tahan博士将于7月31日(星期四)举行学术报告会。报告会安排如下:

报告题目:Simulation of Heat Recovery from Abandoned Oil Wells Using Super-Long Gravity Heat Pipes: Computational Tools and a Case Study in Iran

报告摘要This talk presents research on heat recovery simulation from abandoned oil wells using super-long gravity heat pipes (SLGHPs).

Geothermal energy is a sustainable resource with the potential to meet global energy demands;?however,?the associated high drilling cost for new geothermal power plants impedes widespread adoption. Concurrently,?the petroleum industry faces the challenge of abandoned oil and gas wells,?which not only represent lost investments but also raise environmental concerns. Repurposing these wells for geothermal heat extraction could constitute a transformative breakthrough for the geothermal sector.

SLGHPs are emerging as a promising technology due to their ability to efficiently transfer heat from deep, high-temperature zones to the surface without mechanical pumps, relying solely on gravity to cycle working fluids. This research focuses on Southern Iran, particularly Khuzestan province, which features extensive, naturally fractured, high-permeability reservoirs, making it an ideal location for evaluating SLGHP technology for heat extraction from abandoned oil wells. This presentation details the development of a customized numerical tool for simulating heat extraction from such reservoirs. Results from a case study on an abandoned well in the Asmari formation demonstrate the technical feasibility and potential of this approach, contributing to the advancement of sustainable energy through the reutilization of existing infrastructure.


报告人简介:Hamid Naderan Tahan,伊朗阿米尔卡比尔理工大学(德黑兰理工,Amirkabir University of Technology)机械工程系副教授,现任教务规划主任,副校长教育顾问。博士毕业于伊朗沙里夫理工大学机械工程专业,曾获伊朗国家优秀人才直博录取资格。长期致力于热流体系统建模与计算流体力学(CFD)的人工智能应用,主要研究方向包括人工智能在热流体系统建模和计算流体力学中的应用、燃气轮机的基于模型的故障诊断、热流体系统的数值模拟等,并与美国德州农工大学(University of Texas A&M)等国际知名高校合作。近年来主持和参与多项工业及科研项目,在Energy,?Tribology International,?Transport in Porous Media,?Geothermics,?Physics of Fluids等国际著名期刊发表论文二十余篇。
